Birmingham’s John Kabbaj grabs gold at WSOP

The poker professional who very recently moved to Alps to recuperate after throwing everything told that he has began a whole new life in the past 6 months and now things are looking quite good. John Kabbaj was the very 1st British poker player to snatch a bracelet earlier this summer at World Series of Poker 2014, it is the 2nd gold bracelet he has won in his career that dates back to 1990s.

The Birmingham born player earned US$ 267327 for his 2nd World Series of Poker win, 5 years after snatching his 1st in US$ 10000 Pot-Limit Hold’em Championship for US$ 633335. After his victory, he stated that he has dreamt of this day for a very long time and it feels really great. It has taken 5 years to win the second one and he never gave up hope.

John has been taking part in the World Series of Poker for the last twenty years and has accumulated US$ 1.5 million in World Series of Poker winnings during that time.

He’s earned over $2.5million playing live poker tournaments all around the world, and until recently could often be found in Paris playing Pot Limit Omaha cash games in the famous Aviation Club de France on the Champs Elysee.

This very recent win might not have come at a time for John, who moved to the Austrian Alps recently to recuperate from what he has termed as the worst 2 years of his life.
